Young Emerging Scientists with Girls Scouts

We live in a world where technology is growing such that our students will need to have a level of coding knowledge for several types of future careers.  

 

Jewels Academy's Young Emerging Scientists (Y.E.S.) program is hosting a coding workshop on Saturday May 14th (9:15 - 12:30 p.m.) at the Mickle Center (1620 Pleasant Street in Des Moines, Iowa).  We will have special guests from the girls scouts therefore seating will be limited. 

 

 The registration fee for the workshops is $10.00 which includes a light snack, equipment to use and the coding programming.  Deadline for registration is 5/1/2016.  The objectives for the students are below.  

 

Objectives for 5/14 workshop:

How to write and document applications 

The importance and use of If-Else statements  

How to create and implement functions 

Effectively create and use objects from predefined class libraries 

Understand the behavior of primitive data types, object references, and arrays

 

Please note: we prefer payment by 5/1/2016 via online or check to the address below.  Registration fees are non-refundable or transferable due to procuring supplies.
