2018 Y.E.S. Summer Workshops

Young Emerging Scientists (Y.E.S.) is a program of Jewels Academy for girls' 4th - 9th grades.  Please submit the below application by 7/5/2018 before 5:00 p.m.  We will host the summer workshops at 1620 Pleasant Street, Mickle Center from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  The registration fee for the summer is $45.00 which includes four Saturdays. Please note that this will be the fee whether your child attends one or all four sessions.  A snack will be provided during all workshops.

Saturdays 7/7, 7/14, 7/21 & 7/28

Programming this summer will feature:

• Building their very own small Rube Goldberg Machine and linking it to Physics and Mechanical Engineering Careers
• Practicing Public Speaking in front of their peers
• Graphics Design and Heat Press Application - Linking that to Computer Design Careers
• Fun activities will be built in every week
• Networking with various STEM Professionals

Wrapping the 4th Saturday up with a celebratory session that will include interactive team building of one large the Rube Goldberg machine from previous weeks to complete a simple mechanical task.
